Announcing a new painting by Andrea Nechita of sci-fi writer Hugh A. D. Spencer!

Behold the latest artwork to join the Hugh A. D. Spencer collection – a super cool portrait of the fantastical sci-fi writer wearing an abstract space sweater!

Hugh has been commissioning and collecting art from Andrea Nechita for years, and she was honoured to have him ask me to paint his portrait.

"This portrait is a mixture of Hugh’s cool sci-fi writer’s vibe, my unique minimalist style, and an out of this world abstract space sweater!"

The sweater is made with over 10 layers of paint and pouring mediums. The process took weeks as layers had to be built up and dry before the next layer could be added.

The painting was completed in May 2020 and was entered into Gallery Ring's the PEOPLE Show. The portrait was chosen as a finalist.
